Come meet experienced parents from your area, share knowledge and stories, and meet other new cadets before R-Day! If your cadet has already graduated, come and fill us in on their Army journey.
The West Point Parents Club of Orange County is here to support you and future cadets throughout their 47 month long journey and beyond.

Final Countdown
Typically held in late Winter or early Spring, Firstie and Cow parents get together to discuss graduation plans and expectations. The club also gives our newly commissioned Army officers a U.S. flag that has flown over the Capitol for their personal commissioning ceremony. Special emphasis is provided on details of attending graduation, what to expect, sharing experiences of past graduations and how best to plan in advance for the graduation week activities.

Spring Fling
Thank you for attending Spring Fling! The energy and excitement from our New Cadet parents from the Class of 2028 was truly special and such a unique parent-specific experience. Great discussions all around for what to expect for Reception "R-day", and sharing the academic progression of all our Cadets. We introduced the new Executive Team, and presented token gifts to our amazing outgoing board members, and all left with pride and camaraderie for our shared experiences. Looking forward to the next get-together!

Our annual club ice cream social occurs in July, around the half-way point thru "Beast" (Cadet Basic Training). We come together to support our New Cadet parents. Members share letters they have received from their cadet while more seasoned parents and current Cadets on summer break, share insights as to what the New Cadets may be experiencing during the 6 weeks of CBT, Acceptance "A-Day"and the upcoming academic year.
Boodle Box Party
Boodle Box Party
"Boodle" is slang used to describe military contraband, like sweets such as cake, candy and ice cream. Our members gather once a year to stuff care packages full of boodle snacks for our Cadets. All items are donated by members and parent volunteers help pack the boxes for delivery to West Point for our member's cadets to pick-up. At the Boodle Box Party, our members enjoy lunch together, share stories, and provide each other helpful resources for them and their cadets.
Hail & Farewell
Hail & Farewell
The Club welcomes the incoming Class of Cadet Candidates to USMA and says farewell to the graduating class of Firsties. We enjoy a slideshow of photos of our Firstie's 48-month West Point Experience. The club presents each graduating OC Firstie who attends a name plaque and gift as we bid them farewell and wish them luck in the the Army as an Old Grad. Firstie's share wisdom and give advice to the new incoming class. This event typically happens in June.

Beach BBQ/Picnic for all Club members to attend. Fun games are usually played. Takes place in September or October.
